OMBRE WALLS – MAKE A STATEMENT

Make a statement on your walls with this new colour trend – ombré walls! We’ve all seen the ombré effect on hair and now we are seeing it in our homes and on our walls. What is ombré you may be asking? Ombré is 3 or more shades of one colour on a wall, the lightest blending into the darkest which is typically lowest to the floor. The trick is to ensure that each shade is blended well so you don’t see any lines.

By using soft pastel colours you can create a whimsical dreamy effect or dare to be bold with a bright hue of colour. If you want to take it to the next level, 2 different colours work well too – as long as the colours compliment each other and don’t clash. Like a feature wall, this is best applied to a single wall in a room.

There are plenty of how to guides on the internet if you are looking to DIY – or you can even get ombré wall wallpaper.

What do you think? Is this something you could do in your house? I think it could look amazing in the right home and make a huge statement!

I love it but not sure it would be possible as a DIY job for me. I wish I was that clever.

I love it Fleur – it is not something I would be able to do in my current house as I don’t have the right wall space for the impact, but one I will be pinning for later! x

Oh wow! This is awesome! I haven’t seen before. I’d totally have to go the wallpaper way. Painting one colour neatly is beyond me let alone anything fancy. I wonder how fast I would get sick of the ombre??? x
